How to Upload 3D Assets directly to the Agora World App:

Step By Step: How to Upload 3D Assets:

  1. Open the Agora World application in your web browser (ALPHA) or download it here and sign in to your account or sign up if you don’t yet have one.
  2. Upload 3D Assets from the Home Page
    1. In the top right corner of the home page, you will see an Upload button. Click it and a dropdown menu will appear. Select “2D/3D Art Assets”.

    2. Once selected, a window will pop up for you to upload your 2D or 3D content. Click the box and it will open up your file window to select from and upload.

      <aside> 📌 NOTE: When selecting 3D assets, we currently support:

      1. 3D File Formats: FBX, OBJ, GLTF (we recommend uploading these as a .ZIP)

      <aside> 📌 NOTE 2: File size is vital to remember. The bigger the file you download and use, the more your user has to download in order to access your experience, meaning longer download times! If you need help optimizing files, we have multiple partners that can help. Pretty soon, they'll be offered right inside of our editor!

    3. Select your file, you’ll see a thumbnail pop up of your asset, and click “Upload” to add it to your library

    4. That’s it! You will now be able to use that while creating or editing an experience

  3. Upload 3D Assets from Inside an Experience (’Edit in World’)
    1. Select a project you wish to edit or create an experience using a template

      1. To edit a project, go to your Projects page

      2. Navigate to the project you wish to edit and click the 3 dots to open the menu. By clicking “Edit in World”, you open a private Edit-Instance, enabling you to add custom 2D and 3D content, gamification elements, integrations, and more directly to your experience.     2. Once you’re inside of your project (Editing “In World”), click T to open your Toolbox and then click “Create”.

      <aside> 💡 **REMEMBER, YOU CAN UNDO AND REDO ANY CHANGES MADE:

    3. Select the plugin package "Agora World Core".

    4. For 3D content and media, choose the "3D Slot" asset and place it where you want it to go! These slots are interchangeable, meaning once you put 3D content here, you can replace it with other media very easily.

    5. Once you put the 3D Slot down (aka unselect it), select it again by clicking on it so the Asset Menu opens on the right side of your screen. Just like all other assets, you can add a name, title (public facing) and description (public facing) as well as move, duplicate, go to, change color, and delete it from this menu.

    6. So how do you upload or select your 3D assets from your library? Click on "Select Media".

      1. You will see a new window pop up of your 3D Library - any and all assets you’ve already uploaded to Agora World. In the top left, you will see an “Upload Files” button to upload additional 3D content to your library.

    7. Once you select Upload Files, a window will pop up for you to upload your 3D content. Click the box and it will open up your file window to select from and upload.

    8. Select your file, you’ll see a thumbnail pop up of your asset, and click “Upload” to add it to your library and use it in world. By uploading directly in world, this auto-selects that asset for the slot.

    9. Once a 3D asset is chosen, you can do all of the things you could for other assets to these! Move, scale, rotate, change its color, duplicate, and more.

How to select plugins uploaded via the Unity SDK

  1. If you have uploaded plugins to your account via the Unity SDK, you’ll find them within your toolbox.

  2. Once you’re inside of your project (Editing “In World”), click T to open your Toolbox and then click “Create”.

  3. Once on the Create menu, click the “+” next to the title “Plugins”

  4. In this menu you’ll see a few things:

    1. "Official Plugin": Plugins officially released by the Agora World team

    2. "My Plugin": Plugins already added to your account, whether by share code or by uploading via our UnitySDK

    3. Or discover some from the marketplace and add them via "From Share Code".

  5. In this case, since you’re adding “My Plugin” from what you uploaded via the Unity SDK:

    1. Click My Plugins

    2. Navigate to and select the Plugin you wish to use in your experience. You’ll notice clicking on it will open the folder and enable you to see it’s contents. Click Add to select it.

    3. Once you click “Add”, you’ll see the Plugin available on the “Create” page of your toolbox

    4. Once you select an asset, you’ll see it spawn in front of you!
