Getting to the core of WHY you're looking to create what you ultimately create is the most critical factor. It's not what you build but WHY you do it. Asking yourself WHY is how you explain your purpose and the reason you exist and behave as you do. WHY is the purpose, cause or belief behind WHAT you ultimately do. While in the image, he is referencing the organization as a whole, the same exists when you think in the context of the experience you're looking to design and build for the consumer of it, and identifying WHY you are creating it in the first place will enable you to design an experience that truly solves the need at hand.
